3D model description

Presenting our latest innovation: The Filatone Instruments Phi-Bass - A fully 3D printed electric bass guitar that you can build at home for as little as $40! The Phi-Bass is built using the same principles as our previous designs, using the very same 2020 aluminium extrusion that creates the framework of most of our 3D printers!

Design

So what makes this design better, stronger and simpler than other designs out there? A length of aluminium extrusion runs through the entire centre of the guitar from bridge to machine heads meaning that the strings are fighting against an incredibly rigid and robust structure, generating high stability and playability.

Print

The Phi-Bass has been designed to be as easy as possible for you, the user to print. This means it uses minimal filament, supports where only absolutely necessary and can be made from any material, as the structure does not rely on the printed parts for strength! Each part is also positioned in the optimum orientation for printing.

Build

Supplied with the STL files is a comprehensive and easily understandable instruction manual, using in depth line drawings to guide you smoothly through the build process resulting in a great product at the end.

Parts

A full Bill of Materials is supplied with the instructions with suggested links of each part. The bill of materials for this product is very small and if you buy wisely can cost a very small amount. The Phi-Bass only uses one type of screw to make the process easier. With this kind of product the amount you spend on it is up to you. You could buy a P bass pickup for $1 or $100!

We hope you enjoy building and playing this instrument!
